ELIGIBILITY AND REQUIREMENTS
Eligibility
​
The Shelby County Farm Bureau Foundation scholarships are open to graduating high school seniors and current full-time undergraduate students. Past recipients are eligible to re apply. All applicants must meet the following general criteria to be considered for a Shelby County Farm Bureau Foundation Scholarship. Please see each scholarship for specific requirements, limitations, and guidelines.

Must be accepted for enrollment or currently enrolled at an accredited college, university, or community college.

Must be a full-time undergraduate student to qualify for the scholarship.

Selection will be based on academics, scholarship, activities, an essay question, and letters of recommendation.

The student applying must be or must be a dependent of a Shelby County Farm Bureau member in good standing. APPLY HERE.

Must reside in Shelby County

Must be TYPED; no handwritten applications will be accepted.

Must complete an application and enclose a high school or college transcript and send to the Shelby County Farm Bureau Foundation.

Minimum of TWO Letters of Recommendation from individuals not related to the applicant must be forwarded to the Shelby County Farm Bureau Foundation.

Must be pursuing a field of study in agriculture, an agriculture related field, or a science related field. And must be able to talk about the impact the study will have in the agriculture community.

Chris Barker Memorial Scholarship

Must be pursuing a field of study in agriculture, an agriculture related field, or a science related field. And must be able to talk about the impact the study will have in the agriculture community.

Howard Buffett Scholarship

Must be pursuing a field of study in agriculture, an agriculture related field, or a science related field. And must be able to talk about the impact the study will have in the agriculture community.

John Culumber Memorial Scholarship

The applicant or parents must be a resident of the Pana or Shelbyville School District

Must be pursuing a field of study in agriculture, an agriculture related field, or a science related field. And must be able to talk about the impact the study will have in the agriculture community.

Richard, LeFern, and Peggy Soldner Scholarship

Must be pursuing a field of study in agriculture, an agriculture related field, or a science related field. And must be able to talk about the impact the study will have in the agriculture community.

Applicants must exhibit potential for successful completion of a chosen course of study, and follow a career path in agriculture. Verified by transcript confirming GPA and provided certified ACT/SAT scores in a sealed envelope or electronically via email.

A current or former student of the Cowden Herrick school district

Must attend or be acepted for enrollment at an accredited college, university, community college or authorized trade school.

Must major in a field of study which impacts the agriculture industry.

Must be a full-time student in high school or in an undergraduate program.

Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.

Preference will be given to someone who exhibits exemplary involvement in their faith and local church.
